Our population is approximately 29,044 and we take pride in both the history and future of our community. The City maintains a community center and numerous parks including Freeman Lake Park with a beautiful lake, picnic facilities, paddle boats, fishing, walking trails with wonderful views. The Elizabethtown Sports Park features 12 multi-purpose natural turf fields, 12 baseball/softball diamonds, 2 championship fields with synthetic turf, an ADA accessible miracle field with a soft, synthetic surface, 3 large pavilions, walking trail and playgrounds. The Elizabethtown Nature Park features the Veterans Tribute and pavilion. American Legion Park features a 9-hole par 3 golf course, Funtopia, multi-purpose field, tennis courts and a swimming pool. Freeman Lake Park Tennis Complex features 10 tennis courts with five courts lighted. Elizabethtown has partnered with the Kentucky High School Basketball Coaches Association and the Kentucky High School Basketball Hall of Fame to develop a High School Hall of Fame to be located in Elizabethtown. The inaugural class of the Hall of Fame was inducted in July 2012. Abundant housing in a variety of settings is available for singles, couples and families. Medical and professional services of every type are available within the city, including a 300+ bed regional hospital. Several different shopping areas, including small shops, large department stores, super stores, and a fully enclosed mall are all within the city limits.
